The explanation of PBG is as follows. It should be noted that currently the IMB (Building Permit) has been removed and replaced with a new term, namely PBG (Building Agreement).

PBG is a permit intended for building owners to change buildings, build new buildings, reduce, and/or maintain according to building technical standards, this is in accordance with Government Regulation Number 16 of 2021 article 1 point 17.

With the issuance of this new regulation, it automatically becomes a revision of the previous regulation in PP No. 36 of 2005 concerning IMB. Different from an IMB which is a permit that must be obtained before or when constructing a building with building techniques that must be attached, the PBG is a permit rule that regulates how a building must be built.

PBG is a Building Permit that is required for building owners in constructing and developing their buildings.

PBG regulates a building to comply with predetermined building technical standards. These standards include planning standards, building design, implementation and supervision of building construction, as well as building utilization standards.

In addition, PBG also regulates standards for demolition of buildings, implementation of preserved Cultural Heritage Buildings (BGCB), Green Buildings (BGH), provisions for the implementation of Special Function Buildings (BGFK), State Buildings (BGN), document provisions, and provisions building contractor.
